Elekta’s medical and radiation oncology software earn customer praise and high ratings

Integration Vs Functionality Graph Text

In the recent KLAS report titled Oncology 2020: A Comprehensive Look at Medical Oncology and Radiation Therapy Solutions, Elekta’s MOSAIQ® Medical Oncology and MOSAIQ Radiation Oncology solutions earned distinction among customers in several categories, including functionality, integration, culture, value and overall customer experience.

Elekta leads in medical oncology functionality and integration, according to the report, which noted when highlighting good product quality that MOSAIQ medical oncology customers frequently praise how well the system integrates with radiation oncology solutions.

In measures of culture and value, Elekta came out ahead of other vendors in both, the report indicated.

“Elekta customers highlight the proactive nature of their vendor’s support and say that personnel are also responsive to issues and good at closing the loop.”

According to report: “Due to the highly regulated nature of radiation oncology, only the two comprehensive oncology vendors—Elekta and Varian—offer software in this area. Though the vendors’ overall scores for radiation oncology are quite similar, there are important differences when it comes to culture and value. Elekta customers highlight the proactive nature of their vendor’s support and say that personnel are also responsive to issues and good at closing the loop. Customers rarely feel nickel-and-dimed by Elekta.”

In the area of “Customer Experience Pillars” for medical oncology software, Elekta’s MOSAIQ Medical Oncology rated well among customers:

On page 10, KLAS reported: “MOSAIQ medical oncology customers frequently praise how well the system integrates with radiation oncology solutions—Elekta’s as well as Varian’s (though some workarounds are required for non-Elekta integrations). One customer specifically cited this strong integration as one reason his organization has kept MOSAIQ even after implementing the oncology solution from their acute care EMR vendor. Multiple customers say the solution meets their needs and is easy to use.”

The KLAS report also measured “Customer Experience Pillars” for radiation oncology, a product category for which Elekta customers rated highly. The reported noted:

  • “Similar to Elekta’s medical oncology customers, their radiation oncology customers also appreciate the seamless integration between medical and radiation oncology.”
  • “Phone and web support is one of Elekta’s highest-scoring metrics. Customers describe the support personnel as responsive and knowledgeable and say there is a low turnover rate.”

An IT manager quoted in the survey said: “Elekta’s IT support is amazing. They have people that have been around for 20 years. I hardly ever hang up without an answer.”

“This report confirms that Elekta software solutions continue to evolve in functionality and ease of use, and that customers are relying on us to maintain our tradition of innovation,” says Andrew Wilson, President, Oncology Informatics Solutions. “While Elekta has made great strides in precision radiation medicine via our delivery hardware, the next horizon is therapy personalization.

“This trend is being driven by data and software,” he adds. “Through data we can provide personalized, secure, user-friendly software solutions to physicians and their patients. MOSAIQ Plaza, for example, is a powerful, feature-packed ecosystem of digital tools that connects caregivers to colleagues, their data and their patients throughout the cancer management process. MOSAIQ Plaza is fully integrated and works seamlessly to drive efficiencies and standardize daily practice.”
