Dr. Matthias Lampe from DTZ Strahlentherapie, Berlin, shared his first clinical experiences with Elekta Evo, focusing on the online adaptive workflow. He highlighted the transformative potential and significant improvements in treatment precision and efficiency with Elekta Evo.
Showcasing the use of Elekta ONE
Dr. Hui Khee Looe from Pius-Hospital in Oldenburg presented on “Enhanced workflow and efficiency with Elekta ONE | Planning.” With over five years’ experience using Monaco, the team recently upgraded to version 6.2.3 and reported smooth performance. They also tested Monaco GPU optimization and MIM GPU contouring, with early comparisons indicating improved efficiency.
Discussing the use of Elekta Esprit
Dr. Eva Lannacone from IRCCS Istituto Nazionale Tumori Fondazione G Pascale, Napoli, shared experiences with Elekta Studio, ImagingRing(r) during its first year. She highlighted productivity boosts and differences between 'in-room' and 'out-of-room' planning workflows. Scanning patients directly in the treatment room enhanced dignity and comfort, with a 40% reduction in overall treatment time.
Hypofractionation in radiotherapy
Dr. Elizabeth Knowles evidenced how hypofractionation in radiotherapy lowers treatment carbon intensity and enhances patient convenience.
Discussing the latest Elekta Unity improvements
Ir. Frédérique van Gameren from UMC Utrecht, the Netherlands, presented on the U-BREATHER study. This research investigates how visual cues given to patients can enhance delivery efficiency in breath-hold gated workflows and improve overall patient experience. Insights from this study contributed to the development of a Visual guidance solution for Elekta Unity with Comprehensive Motion Management.
